FOX SPEEDFRAME PRO LUNAR MTB Helmet

The SPEEDFRAME PRO LUNAR bike helmet from FOX impresses with its numerous reflective design elements and a range of practical features that make the performance-orientated MTB helmet score highly. Equipped with the tried-and-tested MIPS impact system and the robust EPS inner shell, you are well protected in the event of a fall. The clever FIDLOCK SNAP closure also makes it easy to close and open the helmet – even if you wear gloves. Good ventilation and the moisture-wicking, removable IONIC+ comfort liner ensure a comfortable fit and a cool head. The visor of the mountain bike helmet can be adjusted to three positions.
The Lunar helmet is the ideal choice at dusk or in the darker months of the year, as it features reflective details and reflective seams on the straps.

Happy Birthday – 50 years of FOX:
The 2024 season marks FOX's 50th anniversary, as brothers and motorbike racers Bob and Geoff Fox founded the once small parts company called Moto-X Fox in 1974, where it all began. Today, FOX looks back on the past with pride and looks forward to the future with equal vigour and focus.

Highlights & Technologies:

LUNAR:
When the moon is already in the sky and the days are getting shorter, you'll find the right companions for the dark in the Lunar collection from FOX. With its reflective details and highly visible design, Lunar clothing is just the thing for anyone who is out and about in the evening.
The reflective design elements attached as decorative elements do not represent a personal protective equipment as mentioned in EU regulation 2016/425. Thus, they are also not covered by the provisions of the regulation.

DUAL-DENSITY VARIZORB EPS:
The inner shell of the helmet is made of dual-density Varizorb EPS foam to provide optimised impact protection by dispersing forces over a larger area. Varizorb technology combines different density layers of EPS for improved impact absorption.

FIDLOCK SNAP:
The FIDLOCK SNAP closure is a self-closing magnetic closure that ensures quick and secure opening and closing of the helmet, even when wearing gloves.
Thanks to the FIDLOCK principle, the closure shuts automatically and prevents the skin from being pinched.

MIPS:
A layer between the helmet and the head imitates the protective fluids of the brain by rotating against the direction of external forces. This reduces the forces acting on it.

WHAT IS MIPS?
MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is a slip-plane system within the helmet. It is designed to rotate inside the helmet and thus slow down or reduce the impact energy acting on the brain, which helps reduce head injuries caused by rotational impacts.

WHY IS MIPS IMPORTANT?
When a head rotates quickly and comes to a sudden stop, the rotational acceleration may cause the brain tissue to experience high levels of strain. This stretching of the tissue caused by these motions may result in various types of brain injury. MIPS is designed with the intent to address rotational acceleration from impact.

HOW DOES MIPS WORK?
MIPS uses a slip-plane system that moves inside the helmet, mimicking the brain’s own protection system. This layer is designed to rotate inside the helmet with the intent to potentially slow down or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head. Science tells us that if we can reduce the strains associated with rotational acceleration, we might reduce the risk and severity of brain injury.

IONIC+:
This is a removable comfort lining that can be removed quickly and easily in the event of a fall. Thanks to silver ion treatment, the cheek pads are antimicrobial and also odour-inhibiting, while wicking moisture away from the head.
